i get sick of seeing the hair on my legs about the end of februray and then spend six weeks thinking about it before i shave. one of my buddies just shaves year 'round... i might start doing that.

don't have enough hair on my legs to justify shaving... :D

I started shaving at 15 but the hair was light and only needed it once a week, but that gradually built up!...Oops, silly me, you were talking about legs. I don't shave my legs at all and never have. I did ask my wife several times if she would prefer me to shave and she said NO WAY! I guess she likes brushing out my leg hair everyday.

hey...

i just shaved my hair for the first time today...unfortunately i didn't realize i should have used cream and did it dry, so now i',m sitting here with red marks all over my (smooth shaven) legs..i've put moisturiser on them though. anyway, i was wondering.. the hair starts growing at a faster rate the more you shave it right? so isn't it easier just to wax it (or is there a major downside to doing that?)? and should you use a shaver made specifically for your legs, or will a normal face one do? and how often do most of you guys end up shaving?

thanks,
ani

When I no longer have to wear tights! This year we have had the wettist April in 30 years so I have not shaved yet. Last year I think I first shaved at the end of Feb.

Year round.. I live in california so pretty much cycle year round. the hair does not grow faster or thicker when you shave.. If it did every man out their who is going bald would shave their head :) THe longest I can go without shaving any part of my body is about 2 days.

Umm..last week
still wearing tights so I think I might've jumped the gun

Unfortunately, the hair is growing back at an exponential rate. My once smooth legs are returning to their prior hairy state :(

hehehehe :D
just ask any woman who's ever had a bikini wax if it's easier or not!

The upside to wax - you'll be left with baby-butt smooth legs for about 4-6 weeks. No one likes to see stubble whether it's on a man or a woman.

The downside - well they do have to use hot wax and RIP the hair out by the root so it's gonna hurt!

Anyway, you have my sympathy

i usually start shaving just before my first big race: this year that was almost 2 weeks ago before my first race (had my 2nd race last weekend).

unfortunately it's time to shave again. but man are my legs white this year... although i got a fair amount of sun on them over the weekend in Italy so hopefully it's better -- but now i have the cyclist's tan with white ankles and from the mid-thigh up - oh well...

Year round. Can't stand the in between stage itches.

Oh, and my wife loves the shaved legs, especially when she doesn't shave hers in the winter.

I shave year round.

the hair starts growing at a faster rate the more you shave it right?

I believe that this is an urban myth. When boys start shaving parents will say that the hair will grow thicker and faster. The reason for this is that you are becoming a man and it is naturally going to grow thicker and faster, shaving has nothing to do with it. If this were true, imagine how thick and fast it would grow after a lifetime of shaving.

CHEERS.
