Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - buying first bike, quick questions.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
im not quite a clydesdale..6'1, ~200. Does my weight affect what kind of bike i should be looking at? I'm wanting an inexpensive (sub $700 seems to be the magic number) road bike.

At that pricepoint, probably not. We aren't as hard on bikes as some people would have you believe. I probably wouldn't ride boutique wheels...but then paying $1100  for a set of wheels is kinda dumb anyway. Probably the same could be said of carbon fiber (jury is still out on that). But at $700 you won't have to worry about that;)
Just get the best deal you can (maybe look a little higher) and then go ride.
