I was rooting for da Bears, though I thought for sure the Saints were going to pull it out. But then they collapsed. And a spectacular collapse it was.

If it was the Vikings heading to the Superbowl, then I'd be right there with ya, Hip.

But the Bears are no longer the enemy. Smith and company have done a great job of turning a horrible team into a brilliant team that wins in spite of an uneven quarterback.

Now if only someone could do the same for the Packers, that would be awesome. Though we looked pretty good toward the end of the season.

I'm a Wisconsin native, born and raised. I suffered, like many, through the '80s - the dark years for Packers' fans. You remember the "Super Bowl Shuffle"? There were no Packers doing the "Super Bowl Shuffle".

I rejoiced at the coming of the Holmgren and the Favre. I consider Favre infallible - like if the Pope had a tractor. My heart soared during the Reggie White years, two Super Bowl trips, one win.

My heart broke again at 4th and 26; we as fans wept and and wailed and cursed the ground and gnashed our teeth. I don't think any of us have truly recovered.

Now we watch and we wait. Ever hopeful. I keep a vigil for the return of the Favre. There is always next year. But that is all that we have right now. I watch the games. I cheer for the Packers, and I always will.

But... for now... go Bears.

Actually that is my sister. It is her husband that has the tickets. I got to sit in row 8 right behind the Bears bench 2 weeks in a row and my wife knowing my history as a die hard Bears fan all my life, gave me the green light. I have been playing hockey with my son 3 times per week, Taekwondo once with son and daughter and drum lessons once a week for kid as well. I put a lot in the wife bank and cashed in last few weekends.
I have been fortunate enough to be there this year and in 1985 as well.

The Bears winning the NFC Championship happens very 21 years, Wicked tickets on a Sunday during football season is once in a lifetime!
Psimet will be able to see the Bears do it again in 2028.

It's not going. I ran into a medical issue that has been keeping me off of the bike since around November. I had a century a month from May through October and lost the streak in November.

I have been waiting for my new insurance to kick in (tomorrow) and then I will be getting back into the office for a checkup. Hope to be in the saddle again soon. Going nuts!
