i made a rate the ride directory post (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=262798)

and so that i could add the rides to the list... made the actual threads... so if you've ridden the rides... GO RATE THEM! lol! but please use the format that MErider came up with! it gives all the info and keeps it all neat and purdy!

if there are rides not listed (i have a few more i'm adding still!) just PM me and i'll add them!

if you want to start a "rate the" post... all i ask is you keep the format the same! simple request! lol!

but no... i haven't been hijacked.. just bored at work today (and i got so involved adding rides... i forgot to each lunch at lunch time! being busy is cool... even if it's not work busy!

now back to my regularly scheduled rate the hijacking work!

Ps...Cali: The only thing your posts lack is a poll (1 to 5) so we could get a general rating concensus without reading through the entire thread and using our abacus.

(good job, by the way)

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm i wonder if i can go back and add polls? i'll have to look!

Actually, I'm happy to see Cali back in the swing of things. I love her idea and once she has it set up, the rate threads will fall below, but everyone can access the threads through the "stickied" rate thread. Thanks, Cali! :)

i don't think i can add polls.... *pout* so i don't want to add them on the last few....

i'm almost done unless you's all see some i'm missing! i have a couple more to add!

then just bump back up the other threads !!!

Are there any Bike Forums rides that have become traditions, yet? I know the PIE ride is one that's been done a few times, and the Burrito, maybe...(seeing as how those are the only two to which I can contribute :()

caligurl
01-22-07, 03:40 PM
i think the forums are too new for "traditions" lol! but you can rate them in ME's thread... i have a link to that in the directory forum!!!!!

and you have a whole year to ride rides and contribute! heck... i can't even contribute to all the "rate the" threads and i'm the "queen of organized rides" lol! (hey.. they FEED me!)

Missed the Death Valley rides, Solvang (unless we should post the century rating in the double thread) and Everest Challenge (it also a ride, not just racers). Oh, also the High Sierra Fall (unless that goes with the double as well). One last one, hardly worth mentioning, Tour de Sewer, you should put that one in there, just so I can tell everyone not to waste their time ;)

Hi caligurl,

I appreciate all of the hard work to set up all of these threads. :)

I think that the thing that would top it all off would be to have Joe G. (or whomever is authorized) set up another sub-forum within the SoCal sub-forum for the Rate the Ride threads. Otherwise, over time, these threads will become less visible or difficult to find. Having another sub-forum just for the ratings will keep them close at hand throughout the year.

This is all just MHO. What do you think?

solvang..... is it a double/regular century ride? or are they two different dates (i.e. mulholland i thought you could just put which ride you did...since PU does both on the same day.... ) but if the solvang is two different groups putting on two different rides? am i making sense? do you have the link to the double?

i'll add the others and look for info on solvang!

I'm pretty sure they're seperate, the Planet Utra ones maight be on the same date, but the traditional SCOR Solvang Century, is a 100 and 50 miler, I believe.

solvang..... if the solvang is two different groups putting on two different rides?

Cali, there are 2 different organizations that put on 4 different rides in Solvang. SCORE does the Solvang Prelude (http://www.bikescor.com/prelude/welcome.htm), a 25,50 & metric, in early Nov., and the Solvang Century (http://www.bikescor.com/solvang/welcome.htm) the first part of March. Planet Ultra does a Solvang Century (http://www.planetultra.com/SolFinest/index.htm) in November, the week after the Prelude put on by SCORE, and the Solvang Double Century (http://www.planetultra.com/SolvangFall/index.html) in October.

I don't see any reason all of these rides can't be rated in the same thread as long as the rater is clear about which ride they are rating. Have fun.:)

ok... i made a thread for PU and a thread for SCOR..... but both rides within each! phew! lol! long day!

and time to go home! i'll add some more tomorrow!

if i've missed any (checking on high sierra still and found this death valley one (http://www.adventurecorps.com/dvfall/index.html))
