My wife and I are in our mid-thirties, and have two wonderful daughters - 6 and 3 years old. We have never seriously ridden bikes, and haven't ridden at all in +/- 20 years.
Our oldest has sparked our interest. We told her we would buy her a new bike when she could ride her 12" bike w/o training wheels. So the other weekend we took the training wheels off, and told her to have at it in the back yard. Within one hour she was riding like a champ. So several bike shop visits later, and we bought our 3 year old a Schwinn, our 6 year-old a 20" Giant Taffy, and my wife a Ladies' 2003 Trek Navigator 200.
I was all set on buying a Navigator 200 for myself, but when we learned we couldn't attach a standard child's seat(gift from friend), it was back to square one.... Haven't had time to decide on a bike for me yet.... Any recommendations?
Anyway, that's how we got here. I'm looking forward to this becoming a healthy family activity(my wife and oldest got up bright and early this morning for a ride), and participating in this forum....
