Name of Ride: Solvang Prelude
Location: Solvang, CA
When:November
Type: Metric
Number of Riders: 1,000 maybe
Organizer: SCOR
Rating: 4+
Comments on SAG support and Rest Stops: Rest stops are adequate, but the barbeque sucks IMHO. Also, I think it is overpriced because of location.
Comments on the route: Solvang is just premiere in scenery. Farmland, buffalo, cows, ducks, Danish pastries, wine, wine, wine...can't be beat. This route is better than the 100 as it is all mapped out in the Solvang hills. I'm probably going to skip it this year since I've done it 3 years in a row. I'd rather get a BF ride going up there where we can all stay after to get fat, drunk and happy :p

Comments on the route: Solvang is just premiere in scenery. Farmland, buffalo, cows, ducks, Danish pastries, wine, wine, wine...can't be beat. This route isn't as nice as the Prelude as it is one that goes out of the Solvang hills adn into industrial areas. I'm probably going to skip it this year since I've done it 3 years in a row. I'd rather get a BF ride going up there where we can all stay after to get fat, drunk and happy :p

ME, did you do the Prelude 06? That was my first organized ride, and I agree with everything in your review. I didn't see you with cola, or did I just miss you?

Doing the 100 in March, and hoping that the weather is a lot better than what I've read about last year.

Jim (Kimo on the cola bb)
