OK here's another great ride to try. This is for the adv/beg/intermediate to advance rider looking for a challenge. The ride starts in Irvine Park and goes out to Fremont Canyon on a paved road you then hit dirt and here is a 3 mile climb (avg grade 6 - 8%) to Coal Mine and then a awesome downhill to Blind Canyon. Through Blind to Weir Canyon it's rolly up and down and you finish with a great downhill to the Stagecoach route in Weir Canyon and back into Irvine Park. If the ride left you wanting more, there's plenty of riding in Irvine Park and over at Santiago Oaks.

I've done it (but not fast). With the docent it will be a no drop ride, but everyone is able to ride at their own pace. The docents set for this ride are very good. If you want further info let me know. If you want to sign up for the ride send an email to :

irvineranch@tnc.org - give them your name, number of guests, and contact info.

Here's the ride info plus docent list:

Thanks for the heads up Pam! I see there's a night ride through Bommer Canyon on the 13th. Any input on that one?

Don't do the Bommer Canyon rides - way too challenging for me. That crew tends to be very fast and crazy. Check with JamR for more details.

Hi Tiffanie,

Try one of our daytime rides first to get familiar with the area. The night rides do go at a pretty aggressive pace on some tough terrain.

We do have some pretty formidable hills up to 44% in the area, but don't let the grades deter you because we usually have between 6 to 8 Docents with radios on our rides; so many times we split into several groups and tailor the rides to the particular groups.

Definitely join us for one of our rides in February.................you'll be very surprised at how nice of an area this is.

See ya on the trails, and see ya at the Aliso-Woods ride on the 3rd.
