Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - I don't understand "View New Posts"

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

When I first go into Bike Forums, I like to start out by selecting the "View New Posts" prompt. Today, I started viewing the first few of 350 new posts. I only got to the 150th new post, when something came up and I had to sign off. When I come back tomorrow, will the remaining 200 posts come up again, or have I lost them?

No.. I don't think so.

Viewing new posts.. will always be there. If addtiionally post were added since YOU last signed on, which is more than likely, that will be there too You just have to scroll through the page(s) to pick up where you lefted off. :-)

No, those previous new posts will not be there. Once you click on "View New Posts," the computer program will assume you have read all of them. The next time you sign on, "View new posts" will only show you the new posts since the last time you clicked on "View New Posts."

I have found no way to defeat this feature. I simply go to the forums in which I have interest and scan down the listing of recent posts, and can pick up anything that I am interested in and missed that way.

You can also set the forum sort function (at the bottom) so that you see only the posts posted the last day or 2 days or whatever, which sort of gives you a "view new posts" feature by forum.
