http://sports.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/KickbikeUSA/photos/view/1c52?b=3 Wow,it just took me 45minutes to figure out how to get that thing up there, hope you can see it,ive got photos from start to finish(5) in all, if you want to see them, send me your e-mail add and i'll send them to you, these things work so good! I made them from an old pair of nikki mtb boots spd,cut the toes out cover with mesh then booties, slip a (hand warmer pack) inside before you go wala!! warm feet for hours, plenty of oxygen to keep them activated, the only thing you got to get over os making a hole in you shoe/boot,not something you would do every day,but (necessity in the mother of invention) use a old pair of shoes e-bay them or what ever..and if your a die hard roady?? don't worry, the fasion police don't go out in the winter!!!

When it gets real cold I just use my Gore-Tex boots with 1,200 grams of Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation .

I have good hiking boot's to, but they are not biking boots, they won't click in,there are only a few winter boot's out there and im not sure how good they are,and they are very costly, thats why i made these http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u268/joyboy_photo/ They are an old pair i had and they are cleated SPD, and they are wonderful!! No more cold feet and they were cheap, thats the best of both worlds...the heat packs just slide right in on top of my toes and stay warm for alot longer then im gonna be out there...

I just don't understand this whole cold feet phenomenon..... :)

Between summer shoes with booties, winter cycling shoes, Light weight winter boots and wool socks, I just don't get cold feet, even on rides of +3 hours at -10c or colder or +2.5 hours at -27C

Lucky I guess....

What happens when you get stuck somewhere and the heat pads run out?

I don't believe in relying on active heat sources.

vger285,

Are those a breathable bootie you are putting over the top of the boots.

They are Neoprene/waterproof if they breath it would have to be very little i think, but i get plenty of air from the bottom where the cleat hooks on(a cut out of 2x2and 5/8ths) which will make its way up to the heat pack for constant activation, i hope!!!!,yea, it will work!
