Interesting article:

It is always heartening to me when a global company such as Michelin takes an interest in making the roads safer for all users.

In the meantime, ride safely!

Cool. I just forwarded that to my state bike coalition (http://www.bikemaine.org/), who have been pushing the "Share the Road" slogan hard for several years now.

This is stupid. They're just trying to come up with high-tech ways to keep people from getting doored. We don't need a high-tech solution. Here is my low-tech solution:

1) If you're attempting to exit a parked car, look back before opening the door.
2) If you're passing a parked car, stay out of the door zone.
3) If you're designing a roadway, don't put a bike lane right next to a parking space.

Education and enforcement is what we need, smarter people, not smarter cars.
