Hi

Currently I use the cheapy pair of MEC shorts when I am cycling. They are about 30bux CDN or so and I guess I get what I pay for. They dont feel like they are doing anything for me jewels at all. Any recommendations on a decent brand of shorts that won't break the bank.

The only shorts that really work for me is the Pearl Izumi Ultrasensors. I don't buy them at list price though. I usually try and catch the bikeshop's closeouts and can find them for around $40 each.

I just took advantage of the two-fer deal at ww.performancebikes.com and picked up two pairs of their Elite bibs for $80. Using coupon number 6000224, good for today only, you can get their sale price of two pairs for $99 and then take another 20% off of that. The non-bib shorts are $90 and then another 20% off with the coupon. Today, only, I believe. I have used for past four years and they are both comfy and durable. As well as affordable when using these two-fer deals and coupons.

ANyone else notice a problem with shorts colored other than black.. Seems colors other than black, the material wears faster than shorts that are black. Appears, with the exception of logo-lized side panels, which always wear faster; that the Performance Blue Elite bibs show wear faster than the black bibs. ANyone else notice that?
But yes, I do like the blue for a change.

I noticed that the colour in my black MEC shorts wore out very quickly. Ended up having a slight tint of red / brown in it after about 3 or 4 rides. Got another pair and same thing happened.
