Should I worry or will they be alright for a 230lb rider?
Don't know why I didn't think to ask this before I bought them...DOH!
If you already have them, what's the wost that'll happen......they'll snap and your wheels'll fall off and you'll get some road rash!;) Actually, the axle tubes will bear most of the weight, the stress on the skewers is mostly longitudinal rather than laterally across the shaft.

The rear one could snap off when you are riding causing the wheel to drag on the left seatstay. You don't say what brand - some titanium skewers may be up to the job like Salsa Flipoffs. I have some old school Zeus titanium ones that are cool but I think the shaft part (the part that would likely snap off) was steel on these.

When I first got my Hardrock, I would get to standing on the pedals trying to get my fat but over the hill, all of a sudden the back wheel feels funny. Turns out the "Skewer" as you say was not tight enough and allowing the wheel to be pulled forward, on one side. All I could do is make it so tight I swear it would break, but I been riding it for 1200 or so miles with out breaking, and the wheel quit slipping.:rolleyes:

why waste the moo-lah on that silliness, regular ole' skewers aren't exactly boat anchors but i think you already got em'. I've ridden ti-skewers in mountain bike races at 330lbs. they were just fine.
