Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - How many handlebars?

Something about FG/SS has caused me to acquire several handlebars for my bike. Maybe it is just 'cause the are so easy to swap out.

Presently I've got;

Nitto B123s
Nitto 019s
Deda Pista steel drops from my old Bianchi Pista
Fiamme criterium bars
cut-off mountain flats

oh, and 3 stems.

...I use most of them too.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

Are you stems poptop or quill? Poptop I'm assuming.

absolutely. i started my last fix with syntace bullhorns and then used road drops, track drops, flop and chops, and flatbars. swapped them all based on mood, comfort, kind of riding i was and wasn't doing. switched stems according to bars too.

now my main ride has cinelli criterium bars - like track drops but shallower (short people yay), and it's mostly the flop and chops on my older bike.

just happens, ya know? especially when you're doing ridng that changes based on season, work, lifestyle, or geography.

current set up is nitto rb-021
previous bars were old sakae custom track drops, schwinn world champ drops cut flat and narrow

as for stems i have a 3tttitm goccia and 2 nitto technomics all in 110mm

syntace horns get the most love from my hands.
Nitto b 123 steel. 44cm wide. A bit heavy, but look nice.
Raceface flat bars cut down to 40cm. haven't ridden them yet, but I hope I'll like them.

Running some clipped n flipped road bars, they're fine. In the process of getting B125aa's or B123aa's. Hopefully I'll get some flat bars eventually too.

flat bars don't exactly fly off the shelves, so just talk down the price if the shop. I paid half the sticker price since. I had to blow off the layer of dust off them myself though.

crit bars are so underappreciated. I think tey are the perfect compromise between road drops and track drops.

especially for short people, who have shorter arms and need shorter components.

but the stem im rocking right now doesnt have a big enough clamp, so i'm stuck using ****ty drops until i get a new stem

O ya that's true to. Never seen a poptop quill stem in person though.

I'm procuring me one of them in the near future. A very nice stem, indeed. Salsa pushes my buttons.

i have several bars floating around, flat bar, two bullhorns, road drops, cruiser.

i think its common for people (who keep parts around) for 2 reasons. one, they tend to be fairly cheap, you don't feel like you have wasted money sitting around if you don't use them, as you might with a frame or wheelset. the other, and probably the more important one, is that bars are the one thing that change the feel of a bike MOST. to a certain extent cranks are cranks, wheels are wheels, saddles are saddles. while they come in different sizes and some are always better than others, the bars are the one part that can totally change a bike; so that combined with the relative cheap factor, i find, make them handy to keep around.

I've been through lots of different bar setups. I keep a few bars and stems around because I know they'll get used again eventually.
