Anyone have experience using a BMX pedal with straps or clips? Something like these
BMX Platforms (http://cgi.ebay.com/PEDAL-BIKE-1-2-BMX-PLATFORM-ALUMINUM-RED-BY-EXUS_W0QQitemZ150020063600QQcmdZViewItem)

I have these MKS Platforms but my foot is too big to fit on them well

I've done the straps-only thing with those kind of pedals. Once you get strapped down they' work fine, but it's just a pain to get in them. No experience with clips on them...the mental image I have of it isn't pretty (asthetically).

wouldn't power grips work better on something like like (instead of clips/straps).

usually if they take reflectors they will take clips, though occasionally the holes are the wrong distance apart or the clips don't work with the shape of the pedal. This would be a good think to check out at your LBS.

Also, MKS touring pedals.

The ones linked look alot like a pair that came off my Specialized SS Hardrock. I have a old set of plastic clips and some power grip hardware. I'll work on it tonight and post results/pix. I have my doubt with the power grips.

The specialized/old dx rip offs could handle a clip/strap, but no place to bolt the hardware for the power grips.

Get MTB platforms. BMX pedals + clips/straps = goofy.

They're the same thing.

I've done this before and it's a bit more supportive then a mtb cage pedal.
Since most of the platforms you can do this too are low end with dull pins they don't really hold your foot in any better then an mtb cage(much better then road pedals though).
Pedal strike will suck since they are meant to be two sided unlike cage pedals or road platforms.

Since it sounds like support is what you're looking for this is probably a good option for you but be careful of catching one.

Watch out, you're very close to offending my delicate sensibilities.

Yeah mine too...... :D

It might work but there are a couple different type of BMX pedals if you get the cage type ones it should work ok
