Members,

If you are one of 30 thousand riders for the 5 Boro Ride in New York City, look for me. I will be stationed on the "Queens Boro Bride "from 7am - 12 noon.

(Bike marshal with helmet cam)

Ciao..:D

YESTERDAY'S event (5BBC) was a great success. Everyone involved seemed to enjoyed themselves. With the amount of people riding, there were some crashes but overall not too serious.

I was positioned for several hours high on a curved hill, before joining the ride. Using a bullhorn, I tried to keep the rider's spirits high as they proceeded to climb so very early in the morning. Every few mins or so, I will give them a "GOOD MORNING" and the time is now......., and the temperature is approx........., which for a moment put a smile on their faces as they responded back by saying...Good morning to you too... and thanks for volunteering.... and where's the sun? :D

I finally arrived home shortly after 6:00 and without having dinner, lights were out by 7:00. Today, my body is a little tired but not very sore.

Now.. I just have to work on the video.

italia, i think i saw you.

i wasn't participating in the tour, was actually biking from brooklyn heights to flushing, queens for a softball game. i usually just take the bike path on the bridge but saw that the upper roadway was open so i decided to tag along, without the official green tour vest and enjoy the view/ride on the bridge. you looked right at me (didn't see anyone else with a bullhorn yelling 'good morning' to people). when we made eye contact i thought you were gonna pull me over and tell me to get off the bridge since i wasn't a registered rider. biking to my softball doubleheaders on sunday morning. doesn't get any better than that for me.

was that your specialized that you were standing next to?

Good morning Bud,

 Glad you tagged along.

I confess...Yes.. that was me standing near my new racer. So, I looked at you.. huh? Were you wearing a helmet? :D You know, there were a few unregistered riders like yourself, but I didn't bump them from the tour since there were other marshals and captains along the route to do that. I'm guess that didn't happen to you and you arrived at your destination. I do know, any rider not wearing a helmet, :fight: were kicked off without question.

Maybe you and other's may agree with me. I think our Mayor should change the name of the "Verizanno Bridge" to the "Never Ending Bridge".

yes i was wearing a helmet. i wasn't on the route for too long, just the 59th street bridge. i would have smiled at the lady with the bullhorn, but i wanted to get away from you as soon as i could. hehe. didn't want to get pulled off the bridge and detoured, as i was running, er. . . cycling late for my doubleheader.
