Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Soma Urban Pursuit bullhorns

How do they feel? Do you guys like them? I'm upgrading from flip and chops.

I have the 38cm bars. I'm liking them so far, just switched from drops a few weeks ago.

Can you ride comfortably on the flat section on the 38's? What's the longest you've ridden on them?

Yeah I ride the flats comfortably, and thats with a brake lever on the flat section. The longest I've ridden, granted I haven't had them very long, is probably about 15-20 miles.

They look like the horns are long enough that the part that's angled up is a whole other viable hand position...is that the case?

does anyone have a picture of these bars on their bike they would like to share?

my brother has a set of 'em on his conversion with a brakes mounted on the ends....i tried them on my bike, but the ends were so long i was way stretched out when i tried riding on the them, but my brother's bike is a bit small in the TT on him so with is extra reach mounting his brakes on the ends was comfy for him

i just got the soma bullhorns and they be nice. size 42. they can accomodate bar end brake levers, which is cool.

There is a stretch, but to me I liken it to digging into drops. By stretching me out, I feel I get more aero, and I'm better leveraged for hard braking. I like the positions a lot more than on my drops for day to day biking.

horns aren't any less comfortable than drops, you just have less to work with in positioning (I see this as a plus since it puts you more upright)

believe me, after the 70th mile hand comfort is the last thing you're worried about

I do get numb from time to time, mainly due to the tendency to fall in to this weird position where my wrists are completely flexed upward

If I had those bars I'd chop them down a bit, they look redunkulous.

Are these measured center to center, or outside to outside?

I would imagine outside to outside, since it should be the same measurement you do on your shoulders

mine are about 4cm too narrow and I can't tell a difference

How much is the flex in these bars? I have the nashbars and I wish they were a bit stiffer.

Haven't noticed much flex in mine.

I notice most of the flex on a hill, and that is what I don't like it at all. But I still like bullhorns a lot.
