It seems that there ought to be a central location to find out about local trail conditions or perhaps there is and I am just unaware of it. I just attempted the Lower Big Quilcene trail on the Olympic Peninsula and there must have been a tree across the trail about every 100 feet. I gave up after a mile or so of ride-dismount-ride-dismount . . .
The night before the ride I googled the trail to see if there was any info on it, but nothing came up. I suppose I should have known of course, with the weather we have had out here, but an editable trail page (like a wikipedia) that keeps the last three references to a trail would be perfect so anyone who attempts a ride can bring back the latest info. So here is the latest on Lower Big Q--bring your chainsaw, it's begging for a work party.
