So, so far this year, what new tricks have you guys learned?
The only tricks I've learned have been on my crutches so far.

Mude: I'm catching up. :p

I've never done one, the only one I have is 7 feet tall and in between two steep and tight halfpipes which I'm scared to ride because they're slippery.

I'm going to try my best to learn 180's at speed in and out of fakie, and hop barspins this year. And work on my manuals and hops as always, and try to get footjam tailwhips down.

I'm at the same point that you are... that's where I will hopefully be when I finally get back on my bike. Hopefully, I haven't lost too much.

You have more of a chance of learning all that than me, considering you do sports and crap (I was going to say, because you're a jock, but that might have been not nice) :p

Just started in 2006. I rode three different bikes and 4 frames. Because of that I think I'm doing pretty good to start.

Learned. nose manual, manual, 1 foot manual, Wallrides, smiths, feebles, double pegs. Had icepicks on my bike that got stolen and cant really do them anymore. crappy 1 handers , 1 footers, and extremely crappy no handers. Almost got tire grabs.

Wsnt to learn 180s and barspins

Well let's see here...
I'm starting to get tables better.
Just yesterday i started trying opposite x-up's which are really hard for me.
I can finally get a nicely clicked regular X-up good. Sometimes a 250 (Not quite KC Badger hah)
Bunnyhop 3's are killing me. I can get like 270 then pivot the rest of the way. But i can still 3 off like a ledge curb or like flyout/bank.
Manuals got easy for me last year.
I did my first rail hop too. But it was low.
I learned tobaggans (however you spell them.) Euro tables too, but i'm having trouble putting my foot back on after one foot euro's.
And uhhhhhhh i miss me and mude's trails being rideable so i can try more stuff.

But unfortunatley yesterday i realize i have pretty much lost my abilitie to do Grizz's. It made me mad. I always hit my kneed or my bars or stem now and land with one foot. I need to get those back.

EDIT: I forgot tire grabs! Gayest trick known to man. But fun to hold them for awhile on a nice double. Also abubaca's.

Yeah, but that does not have much to do with biking besides just being fit... but you do have one more leg than I do, which is always a plus. There's a lot of big and fat guys that ride bmx. And with the whole jock joke, you could say it, but it wouldnt be true.

MadMan2k
01-28-07, 10:46 AM
Hmm, that's true. I'm pretty bad at learning stuff though, not too coordinated and I can't learn most tricks until I've tried and failed it at least hundreds of times, if not thousands.

FitRider 921
01-28-07, 10:50 AM
Well, Mr. Madman, you should know by now it's all about practice and trial and error. Although I do usually learn pretty quickly... although I think I'm going to be too scared to try hop bars for a while.

premiumbmx2005
01-28-07, 03:40 PM

I forgot tire grabs! Gayest trick known to man.

In comparison to crankflips? Please. And if you know how to do a tiregrab and make it look good, they're an awesome trick.

ex: Mike Aitken at last year's Dew Tour in San Jose...
