Don't know if it makes sense, but we tend to all talk about the weather in different threads. Thought I'd start this up so we can all share the latest weather info for our area in one place and keep up to date without having to see all the posts in every thread.
Am I over-thinking it?

Good idea, valuable info. I used to be quite pleased with weather.com, but lately it has been really letting me down. Not sure if that's just because this area (SFV and surrounding) is so unpredictable, but it's making my bike clothing decisions very difficult!

Great idea, Joel! :) Is it raining out there now? I'm about to head out for my recovery ride, and I just am curious if there is any rain in Burbank? It's dry but threatening in Sherman Oaks.

Yeah, I may call him. I didn't meet those guys this morning as it WAS raining when I got up at both 5:00 and 6:30am. I gave up and went back to bed until 8. I wonder if those guys met??

Ya should called me...I would have come and picked you up!!
Burbank was dry at 5am...still dry at 7...I went out to CSUN...a few drops on the way...nothing major...
It was actually pretty nice...we did get some stready drizzle for 6 miles or so. out at the west end of the valley..then nothing...so overall it was a great ride...less wet than yesterday!
Mark rode out from burbank and said it was wasnt bad at all
Ya shoulda came out ME...
Well next sunday...this is a great easy recovery ride...and very social!!

:( I'm bummed. I just got back from my solo ride and it sucked! 40 miles of loneliness. Plus, I had a flat on my back tire that took forever to change! (I like my new morph pump, but it's hard pumping up to 120 psi! I got an upper body workout for sure! Oh, and this hot policeman stopped to ask me if I needed any help. Since I was covered in chain grease at that point, I figured flirting blatantly would have just been pathetic. :p ) So much debris on the road and tons of traffic. I just rode SO to GP, up Senora to Mountain over to Verdugo, back to GP, loop around GP/Forest Lawn, up to Chandler and back. Boring! I would have had so much more fun with you guys, Herb, but it was wet in SO this morning! :o

Looks like rain off and on through Thursday (bad news for the Wednesday night ride), but clear this weekend in LA County.

So, rain this weekend, but it looks like only a chance of some sprinkles today in L.A.
And tomorrow, only 20% chance in the afternoon in Palm Springs.
But it's coming. Sunday's going to be a good "catch up" day at home.

Sunday is the Cancer charity ride in Thousand Oaks. Not lookin' real great for this event to go off dry...oh well. Current conditions in the Conejo are scattered early sun with high clouds. I better ride during lunch today!

Well boo... I've got a duathlon out in redlands on sunday (5k run, 10 mile bike, 5k run). And i already sent in the entry fee. My friend was planning on doing it too but he didn't get his entry fee paid in time which may be good. It'll let him decide if he wants to participate or not and the "late" fee is only like an extra $3.
As for me, i'm stuck doing it either way... :( :D Maybe i'll get some rain pants tonight or something...

Saturday's looking pretty good for Palm Springs. Mid-60s and only 10 -20% chance of rain. I'll probably wear a long sleeve jersey, plus bring arm warmers and a jacket just in case.

I do NOT want to spoil my San Diego ride.

Yeah, I'm watching that very closely as I will pull out of Butterfield if the forecast remains that way through Wednesday. This morning, there was only a 10% chance, so I'm hoping it goes back down. Anaheim/Lake Elsinore/San Diego all read the same. :(

Actually, I just talked to the Best Western. I have until Thursday, 4pm to cancel my room for Friday/Sat nights. So, hopefully, the forecast will clear! My fingers are crossed...:o

Well i like this idea. But as I have seen this year, the weather changes by the minute. One second they say 30% chance of rain in 20 minutes and then the next its 60% chance. In 20 more minutes its likely to say 0% chance. We can get a man to the moon and make jet liners that carry 500 people but we cant predict weather very well (this weekend is a GREAT example -- talk about beautiful days).
I really wish they could figure it all out for it would make my decision making so much easier..... its either hit the road on the bike or off to the 25 meter pool for 120 laps in 78 degree water (sorry no pictures of me in a speedo... not an option :p ).
Lets see how this works!

Looking all clear for the weekend now - 10% chance in the area, so not a lot to worry about.
Should be beautiful riding weather.

The storm is out there, been sitting outside of Catalina for about 6 hours and not moving (well, it's been moving in circles, just not toward the coast). It's got to head toward LA at some point.

Well, personally, I really want it to strom like crazy...tonight around midnight when I'm in my bed covered wtih my bedspread. Then I can turn the fan off, leave the window open and listen to it. I want thunder, lightening and oodles of rain. We really need it out here badly.

It looks like he is covered with that Tropical Tan oil, which smells like the tanning lotion, which smells like a Pina Colada. I bet he reeks of coconut, pineapple and vanilla.

STORM WATCH 2007
From my driveway, I can see that the ominous clouds have now settled in the foothills near Arcadia. The winds are picking up, the palm leaves are in the air, waving around like they just don't care. The sun and the clouds are entangled in an epic struggle, rolling around, both wanting to be out on top . . .

But being the dedicated BF weather advisor that I am, more detailed testing was in order.
Here is my assistant and weather kite handler preparing the kite, as well as "feeling" the air. True weather aficionados feel the air in their souls . . .
http://luwin.smugmug.com/photos/198595581-M.jpg
And the weather kite in action! Downloaded statistics through the strings to my hand show winds to be heading in the NE direction at a mild 10-15mph.

Of course, being in Los Angeles, our weather kite is truly a noteworthy example of our dedication to diversity!
http://luwin.smugmug.com/photos/198595461-M.jpg
However, due to technical difficulties, our weather kite's flight has been cut short due to the mysterious appearance of a tree. We will report again later on once we get this minor setback sorted out.
