I agree with you completely Cleave. I mean seriously, we're all cyclists here and we should be able to function in a respectful manor to each other. I don't want to go out on a full on rant here, but I don't care if it is the off season and some people are being stuck inside more often that they'd like, harassment of another member in the open forum, via PM or otherwise is completely unacceptable. We are a community, and while we may not always see eye to eye on some things, and we don't even always have to like everyone, to harass a member shows absolutely no respect for them or the community as a whole. And frankly, it makes me sick.

1. Has the admin tried looking up IP addresses? I know at evolutionm.net they caught many duplicate identities that way and IP banned the person so s/he (usually he) couldn't even register a new name.

2. A mod might suggest that the admin have a moderator's section put in, in which only mods can see. We also had this at evolutionm.net and it helped greatly in discussing how to handle unruly members, vendor disputes, etc.

The user in question has been banned at this time, and all existing posts removed from the forum. The vulgarity in the user name alone is enough that they made themselves unwanted here. I am closing this thread and will likely remove it completely once the issue is completely resolved. As always, if anyone has any questions or comments, feel free to contact myself or any of the moderators.

I want to thank the SoCal community for their support against individuals who cause these kinds of problems and those who report them when they see them. I hope that merider1 feels that she can come back to the boards soon.

We can search for users by IP, however there are ways around this if you are a bit tech savvy. However, there are additional tools that one can use to research a suspect user name and IP.

We do have a moderators section to discuss problems and problem members. It is highly utilized, unfortunately partially due to the number of problems to deal with.

WTF? I haven't checked in on this board in a couple of days, and there's all this upheaval? I'm relatively new here, but have seen this type of episode occur on several other boards. I hope ME comes back to liven up the place - she is good people (have met her IRL).

To the sh*t-stirrer/harasser: you may think you are anonymous and cool, but no matter how l33t your tools, there will always be someone smarter who can find you. I would guess you're a coward offline, and would only pull that stuff from behind a keyboard. Find something more constructive to do with your time. Here's an idea: go ride a bike!
