looks like a decent touring type shoe (at least the Gavia) no cleats, clips etc.
good for clips and straps without the cleat I would imagine.
BTW not the same Giro as the helmet manufacturer.

They ar NOT cycling shoes.

As awagner said, they are not intended to be cycling shoes. They are, however, licensed from the Giro that we all know and love.

I juts got my pair in today. I bought the Kouro's http://www.giroshoesonline.com/showStyle.asp?idStyle=1 They are very cool. A departure from merells or keens

Really nice designs. I wonder if Zappos will be carrying them.
I didn't see any mention about SPD compatibility. That seems odd coming from a cycling company.

Giro Shoes rock! When are they coming out with SPD compatible shoes? I just got my Ollie G.'s in. Makes me want to dust off my skateboard. These are some cool kicks:
