I have just gotten new pair of challenge pro clipless pedals from Time and new carbon plate for northwave evolution shoes, and I can clip into the left pedal, but not the right. I took the clips off of the left shoe and put them on the right shoes and vis-versa. I was still able to clip in with the left and after 10 minutes I finally got clipped in on the right. I have owned Time(Atec) and currently Crank Brother(egg beaters), so are road clips alot hearder to clip in then mt. bike? Is there any suggestions on what to do? Practice?

Can you back the release tension off? I'm not as familiar with your new pedals, but I know that backing the tension off can help in getting into the pedals, too.

backing the tension off was my first thought also, but if there is away to do it on the Time pedals, I dont know how... it is not like Look pedal inwhich there is a knob... there is a spring on the heel side of the pedal (like egg beaters or atec springs) so i dont know how to back the tension off
any other ideals?

I'm also still getting used to my clipless SPDs.
For me, it was a couple of things: first, I had to release the tension on the pedals all the way down. Then, I had to practice a lot and adjust my cleats to where my foot was in perfect 'home' position when clicked in. Now, after about a week or so, I'm getting much better at putting my foot on the pedal almost exactly in the position where it instantly clicks in. I used to put my foot on the pedal too far back, or too far to the left, and wasn't able to click in for a long time. It's a matter a practice, I suppose.

Also, I only pop out of my left pedal when stopping at intersections and such. My right foot is usually clicked in for the duration of the ride.

Did you get the pedals from your LBS? If so, I'd go in and see if they know a secret. I'm guessing that you've already checked out anything that the folks at Time might have as far as information. If you mail ordered them, call the place you got them from. Someone has to have ridden them and will know if this is just a break in period or not.

It's possible that the interface is just different enough from the eggbeaters, etc. that it's throwing you off a little. Your leg's used to putting your foot in one place while these new pedals need you to put it somewhere else. It took me a couple of rides to get used to the eggbeaters, and they're pretty much the same cleat as the SPD's that they replaced.
