At least after it's built you'll be able to ride...I have to wait quite a while before I can take the new ride out and put it through it's paces!

Weather im guessing? Today was a perfect 65, light breeze, it's supposed to be like that all week. I'm almost in tears. I'm thinking it will be worth it though.

I'm missing something here...I'd run it downtown to the fatty stairgaps and see what 10" of cush can do. You don't need a chairlift to have fun on her. (granted it's not as much fun)

OP:

Looks like you ordered a TALAS fork with a DHX Coil shock...why? If you're going to do air, why not do it on both ends?

Myself...I'd have gone 36 Vanilla with the DHX Coil. Then you'd have a smoooooooooooooth ride.:D

I've taken it out for a couple of urban rides but the Coiler in FR mode is more ideally suited for that. I just can't wait to take the V10 straight down a big run, flat out...that's what it was designed (and purchased) for!

Didn't want the DHX air, rode a Prophet MX1 with it, prefer the progressive feel, the air blows through the travel too fast. I was gonna get the Van RC2, but this is a "Do It All" bike and didn't like the idea of having a fork stuck in the 6" position all the time. I like the Talas cause of the travel adjust, even through it doesn't have that progressive fell like the Van, i'm sure I'll be pleased.

I always thought (I've proven myself wrong) air would have a more progressive feel than coils because air pressure increases as it compresses.

The coil spring would be more linear because the spring rate would have the same amount of preload until it bottomed out. Either way, you have a nifty bottom out feature on the DHX.

That said, I'm going to switch to a Van R from my Float R shock b/c my air shock blows through its travel too fast too. I can't afford to blow $400 on a DHX.

What I'm wondering is if you have trails in mind that your nomad can handle matt? :D

Trust me I do :)

Talked to Fox today, they're getting a shipment of the 36 Talas's on Friday, if they are already scheduled to head out to shops, I'll get one of the Fox race team's fork. They have a room at the Fox building w/ brand new forks, just waiting to be sent to them :)

The Easton stuff is coming in to the distributor Friday, so should have that next week.
