Hi all, here's my intro.

My name is Brian. I've been cycling most of my life, with a couple of years off while living in the UK and recently about three years off. Last year I started commuting to work about 1/4 opf the time. It's only 5km so this year I decided to try and do so every day. Apart from two days when I got a ride home I've managed to commute every day. (I have very good excuses for the two rides home.)
I've noticed a big improvement in my self, I'm probably the fittest I've ever been. I think the hills have made the difference for me. Although they are not big hills they are substantially more than the plains where I used to ride.
I need to improve my cycling habits, I often pedal in too high a gear. My bike is just a cheap heacy mountain bike with slicks on it but it has to do for a while. It sufficed for a 40km ride on Sunday, with me being none the worse afterwards.

b. (is this enough?)

Welcome to the forums - but beware of addiction - both to cycling and this forum.
