One of the most important debates (http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0701/29/lkl.01.html) of our time.

NO! and why is this a debate??Larry King said it is, and he is on top of everything.
I generally don't consider people her size to be "fat." But whenever a healthy person gains 30 pounds, one could argue that he or she has a weight issue.

Not sure a supermodel can be considered healthy... after she retired, I doubt she wanted to keep starving herself.

Is that a recent photo of her in the pink shirt??
I think its sad that people on tv have nothing better to discuss then if someone is fat!!!
Its horrible women already have tons of stress on themselves to look a certain way. Who the heck cares what she looks like!! As long as SHE is happy that is all that matters.
Good thing I don't watch Larry King. :)
Snowy, you're not fat either. :)
Fat: No
Annoyingly vapid and graced with a forehead out of a Star Trek episode,: YES!
Is that a recent photo of her in the pink shirt??
No that is one of her in a fat suit. The image that has her all bent out of shape is:

Who the heck cares what she looks like!! As long as SHE is happy that is all that matters. When you make a lot of money based on the way you look (model), I guess it comes with the territory.
Good thing I don't watch Larry King. :)Correct, it's not something I recommend doing unless you are really, really bored.

I think the operative word is "made", didn't she officially retire? Now, I am willing to take her place - but for some reason, the phone isn't ringing...

I guess we have nothing worth debating about if we're debating this nonsense. I guess that means the war is over, the gas crisis solved and terrorism's a thing of the past?
Snowy, you're not fat either. :)
Thanks Stacey :) I'm not actually but I work at my weight EVERY SINGLE DAY. I got my dad's genes (his family). I use to be stick and bones up until my twenties. Then I gain some weight, not huge amounts or anything but its hard. I live with a man that can eat anything and is skinny. I have a JLO butt and great hips :) I just feel bad for all the girls out there that have weight problem (some medicial) and have to constantly fight the look this way battle!!
Anyhoo, I'm leaving my soapbox!! :)

Talentless - surely, but ugly never. I'd surely taste a piece of that if given the chance. :)

You cannot declare this without providing photographic evidence...

+1. I think I expressed my feelings about this on another thread. Anyone who thinks the majority of fashion models are within a healthy weight range while living a healthy lifestyle are delusional. It would probably do a lot of them good to gain a few extra pounds. You can be healthy and slim without starving yourself or looking like a skeleton. It's really kind of sad that women are encouraged to feel this way about themselves. :(

Don't fight it snowy. We don't mind. I know you're beautiful, no matter how you look. I know because you have such a sweet countenance. Don't worry about the weight. Try to stay healthy and have fun, without consantly sweatin' the weight.
I'm still waitin' on those pictures! :)

Clearly the media (particularly fashion) promotes an idealized (and distorted) view of beauty. And I agree that many of today's models are freakishly thin.
But there's no small irony in the fact that Ms. Banks enriched herself from this same phenomenon. So I'm not going to shed any tears for her over the "negative" press she's gotten lately.

There are some women who would look better and improve their health if they gained thirty pounds and that can also be a weight issue. She has developed a figure. It looks good on her. The fat is in the right places.
