Mountain Biking - I Love Mud!!!!!!!

I went for a ride yesterday around a lake that was kinda overflowing... sweeet!:D There were puddles that were almost up to your hub in water and mud. Needless to say I fell down but the sad thing was that I fell when I was going uphill *cough* walking *cough*, it wasn't totally my fault it was really really muddy. After the ride my legs were totally covered in mud... it was awesome. Oh yeah, my bike looks so evil its sweet, unfortunately I don't have any pics. I guess I was bragging, anyone else have that feeling when you hit a puddle and you can feel your shock compress and you see this wave of mud and water come up to meet you and you think "Oh crap! I'm not going to be able to pull this off." and you go face first towards the puddle... thats what I'm talkin about.:D

Never landed face first in mud, but I've landed arms/ shoulders first, ass first, sunk up to my kness in leech-infested swamp, and had a patch of skunk cabbage break my fall. Sometimes my bike has been so covered I could barely lift it onto my roof rack. You can see how high I wore my socks on the ride and I always leave a streak of dirt in the bottom of the shower. Yes, mud is fun :D

Mud... love it. Nothing like a sense of accomplishment after mountain biking in mud. Georgia has plenty during the rainy season ie: now.

You love mud?????? then move over to the UK. Great Muddy Britain. It seems that sun and dust has forgotten this place :(

No, but mud does taste better than blackberry bushes, which were on the other side of the trail.

The lack of snow from this winter is starting to catch up in the form of rain. But it wasn't just the rain that made it so extreme it was the fact that we were practically riding through the lake...:D
After that ride I seriously thought about getting some fenders for the sake of my eyes. You get a huge rush when you can't see anything becuase you this big glob of mud in your eye and you going downhill :D. Maybe, I'll just get some spiffy glasses instead.

YEAH!! I had one of those rides yesterday. You know all these storms and tornadoes that have made their way from Kansas to Jackson, TN?? Memphis is right on that route. Went riding yesterday with my friend thinking oh good, it'll be muddy. MUDDY MY BUTT! One trail was under a river. River as in if you tried to cross it the current would sweep you away. The other one we tried had a waist high 'puddle' that we rode about 1/2 way through then had to shoulder the bikes. Further down that trail..a new little lake! A guy in front of us tried to cross it and ended up swimming so we turned back on that one, too! Finally found one with no new bodies of water, now THAT one was muddy! The trail was washed away in alot of places and we ended up kind of lost and sloshing around in the mud, tires spinning, stepping in mud up to the ankles. We looked like a couple of Swamp Things after 3 hours of this. Very ver nice :beer:
