Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

hey my name is thom. i really dont know much about bikes other than i cant seem to ride enough. i dont know much about mechanics so i hope to learn as much as possible. i dont really feel the need to have the most exspnsive bike. if you told me it was a useless piece i would believe you, if you said it was made of diamonds i would believe you. but id ride it anyway. i ride a jamis quest. bought off a friend. right now im having chain noise issues. i think the derailleur is rubbing somewhere. again, hi.

The bike doesn't make the rider
A women I bike with has an old cannondale caad 8 frame with old mavic wheels, dura-ace 8 speed and campy record crank from early early 90's and even downtube shifters. The bike isn't lighter then anyone elses around here nor does it have as many gears. BUT she is faster the most everyone around here. thats what you get when you use to race for the itilian nation team
Long story short, ride the crap out of your bike and welcome to the forum

50 yrs ago, the beauty of bikes was that you just had to look at it to figure out how it worked. Now you have to look at the Park Tool or Sheldon Brown websites.
