ARGH! I finally got the money together for a pair of W240s, but Peter White's out! Is he the only US dealer that stocks them? I think so.

Anybody have input on a good second choice? I'm looking for 700c, at least 40mm wide. Prefer as wide as possible. I'll gladly trade extra traction for increased rolling resistance.

Thanks for any help :)

Google is your friend. Try looking here (http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=263326)for a couple of ideas so perhaps you won't need a second choice.

I don't know if Google is your friend or not. Your link didn't find him any alternatives. I couldn't find any online either. Might just be a case of too little too late.

Actually it did. It was a link to a Mountain bike review forums thread that was basically asking the same question as the OP. I was too lazy to dig out the links at the time, but it mentions someplace the Haverhill Inn & Bike shop (http://haverhillinn.com/shopinfo.htm) in NH, and another called Beaver Sports in Fairbanks (no link provided).

Here's the relevent quote from the thread, posted by someone named twobytandem.

Your tip for Haverhill Inn was fruitful. I let them know you sent me their way and I believe Noreen will be thanking you when you bring your bike in

She directed me to Beaver Sports up in Fairbanks and they do have 2 sets but are ~$80 a pop + shipping due to their local. I'm going to need to stew on that one for a little bit.

The post date on this was last week, by the way.

I don't know if google is your friend

Me and google go way back.
