OK, I'm officially sick of winter. I'm looking at the weather data, and there have only been 2 days in the past two weeks where our temperature was above normal.

To add insult to injury, here's the forecast (normal high today is 48 degrees):

Today: Hi 36°F

Tomorrow: Hi 34°F (Wintry Mix)

Friday: Hi 40°F

Saturday: Hi 34°F

Sunday: Hi 32°F

Monday: Hi 32°F

Tuesday: Hi 25°F

#%$$@$# 25??? Arghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is all.

yeah, you guys in the south are just as cold as we are up here.

i kinda got too used to that warm spell we had for a couple straight months. now, a "normal" winter temperature really feels cold to me.

Babies!!!:D

Kidding, Why don't you take a look at Colorado. We have had 7 WEEKS of straight SNOW. Yep that white stuff and to top it off its not just like an inch here or there it started out in FEET of Snow.

I think on tv the other night in my area, I live west of Denver we have had like 80 inches of snow since December.

Velo Vol

Yes, undoubtedly it feels worse because we were "spoiled" with warmer weather in December and early January.

Having it cold this many days in a row is part of what is getting to me. Usually, we have some warmer breaks mixed in every three to five days.

I can't wait until spring and summer get here and I can get back on my bike. But I am having fun snowboarding, so the winter isn't too bad this year.

Time to rejoice! Today I experienced three unambiguous signs of Spring:

1.] The male cardinal flipped over to his Spring song. . .goes, "I'm in love, but I don't know who with, yet.",

2.] The skunks have emerged from hibernation; they're the first out, and

3.] The Burpee's Seed catalogue arrived.

If I wanted to be a freaking Eskimo, maybe then I'd move to Colorado. :p

Luckily, we've only had a trace of snow once or twice this winter--nothing that affected the roads. Good thing, because it only takes an inch of snow to throw the city into chaos.

I can handle the cold fingers, cold face, cold knees, cold feet. A little bit of winter rain won't kill me. Wind only makes you stronger. I kinda fear the ice, but that's not why I avoid biking/running outside in the winter. It's the crotch sweat that does me in. I can't stand it. Either running or biking, it seems that all the sweat running off my body pools on my scrotum and then freezes. This is bad. It makes me sad.

That's pretty much our forecast here in Charlotte, too, though perhaps a degree warmer for any given day. Who's sending us this shiat? I think it's coming out of the Rockies!

I actually like this latest batch of winter. I dig snow. It's ice/snow or ice/ice that I don't so much dig, dig?

I actually like all of that. It's just the pure bitter cold grayness that I hate. Snow and ice at least makes it interesting.

I guess part of it is being spoiled by the past couple winters. Both of which I only missed a couple weekends of riding due to weather. Most days were vest/thin tights/light gloves weather. This year is different. Right now I'm looking out my window at ice falling from the sky and it's 24. That's pretty much the forecast for the next two days. Then it gets colder for the weekend. Very nasty for Oklahoma. And it's the third mwinter storm of the season. At least two more than usual.

Yeah, the morning rides have been rough lately. This morning I got in 20 miles of riding in blinding snow. It stung the face and was a real effort. Oh well the odds are improving that I will live to ride in shorts again some day. Although that is a long way off.

I can't believe how warm 20 degrees feels. I actually smile in the morning when i see any temp over 20 degrees on the thermometer.

I'm posting amidst winter's fury. When I woke up this morning, about 30% of the grass had visible snow cover. I thought about taking a picture, but held off because the forecast was for 1-4 inches. So much for that idea, as most of it has now melted.

But so long as it is wet and cold, the region will continue to be in near-state-of-emergency mode.

There are unconfirmed reports of bread and milk riots at nearby gas stations. Developing . . . .
