Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - Pursuit Questions

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

<insert anecdote justifying the questions and proving I'm worthy of help>
I have some questions!
1. Geometry! What sort of geometry do most pursuit bikes adopt? I would think they'd be steep like TT road bikes but I've also read that they are more "relaxed" than regular track bikes. Steep angles make sense to me, to have your back more horizontal.
2. Components! Where do you get pursuit specific tri-bars? Road bikes are fine and all, but...I'm crazy. I'm guessing everything else besides the frame (and wheels maybe) is pretty much the same as standard track bikes.
3. Uh...I guess that's it for now. How anticlimactic.
Thanks!

1. Same geometry as road TT. Many times, it's the exact same frame.
2. Tri-bars? You mean aerobars? Check Businesscycles.com for starters.
3.What are you trying to do?

I want to start into track doing TT's/Pursuit. I think I have the mentality to pace myself and the discipline to stick to it when riding solo.
Another question...
Before you ask, I really have searched Google, FGF and other sources for this info and it's hard to find any thing, and what I do find are only snippets.
4. Is there anything else about pursuit frames that differs it from standard track bikes? Lower BB for stability while in the aerobars perhaps?

As somebody said before the bike is tenchically a road bike... so the bb is lower... the center of mass is lower also... blah blah blah, cochise rodriguez (look at the web who was him) used to use a regular 75 degrees track bike, the same he used for points racing. So If u r good enough you will win or u'll be able to be between the upper 5 places using a regular track bike... using normal stuff. After all you dont know yet what it is run a persuit in a track, so probably you will step back after knowing what it is hehehe... I was a Km TT guy and I ran Persuit a few times in my career as a track racer and the truth is that persuit isnt funny at all after the second Kilometer :)
Oh well have fun :) get a bike and win races as old racers use to do... I bet you can do it with out spending a lot of money, the trick is training, not the bike!!!!....
Good luck :)

I guess I should just stop freakin' out (it's what I do) and get a frame that can do both mass-start and endurance type races. The Van Dessel seems to do that, from what I've read.
I found that Blue makes this: http://www.rideblue.com/tr250.html. The seat angle is adjustable apparently, which means one might be able to use it for almost all track events. Looks pretty sweet, even has a wheel cutout. I e-mailed them about price since I couldn't find a single one via internet, but they have yet to get back to me.
But, in all honesty, I'm capable of anything if there are single/pretty women in the crowd. :p
