Hi everyone
I just got hit by a car today, nothing too serious, I was fine (though feeling a little out of it) but my back wheel is definitely a write off. The guy who hit me is obviously gonna pay for it but I had a few questions to ask you guys, before I take it to the LBS for quotes etc.
First is there anything I should look for that may have been damage. As far as a quick inspection can tell pretty much everything was taken on the deraileur side of the wheel. I think the frame is ok but are there any tell tale signs to look for? Also again my rear derailleur might be dead. Is there an easy way to test that without the wheel being able to be turned?
Secondly I wanted to sell the bike in a months time as i'm leaving the country. I had wanted to convert the bike to a fixie and this would be a prime excuse to do that. However do you think I should repair it as a ten speed down shifting bike as it currently is rather than a fixedgear so that I can sell it for more?
Thirdly if I was wanting to convert to fixedgear would I need to replace any of the bottom bracket or cranks or anything?
