Well here I am and thought I'd take a minute to inrtoduce myself to the boards. A little about me, I'm not quite yet 40 but it's getting closer and closer:eek: . I am married with 4 kids and we presently live in Florida. I spent the last 16 years in Central Texas and miss it something awful.:(

I am taking up cycling again after a many year absence for several reasons. I suppose the most important is to get back in shape. At my last check-up my doctor pulled no punches when he said I needed to make some changes or I was in for a rough time soon. (re:Family history).

As for my riding now, I'm getting saddle time with my old moongoose MTB. It's an old heavy bike and the only change I'm making to it is taking off the knobbies and switching to street tires. I will upgrade bikes in the future (possibly a 40th birthday present to myself) but for now with my weight I will stick to the mountain bike.

Last night I set a goal of riding a century by the end of the summer. I will try to ride a half century in May then attempt the 100 around the end of summer.

Wish me luck.
