Southern California - Got a road bike, let's do a century now.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I just built up my roadbike so I can do a century with ME.

Yea man, the frame is pretty burly too. The bike is over 30lbs. Pretty light for a roadie right? *winks*
It is light enough to drop us easily on the DH's!

That's a highly advanced rear suspension system buddy. You know, to smooth out the road on those long 100 mile rides.

There is some history, our friend Phread forgot(?) to put in rim tape and while out on a ride he popped a tube. When it was discovered that there was no rim tape, they tried some palm fronds as rim tape.
Thomson... keep that on the DL man. SSHHHH.

Probably something to do with the fact I put it together last night, and have only rode it around in the church parking lot next door. ;)

sheesh, when I finished building my VT2, I took her for a spin at 1:30am til about 3am then woke up and hit the trails in the morning;)
Looks like a good build:D did you use a parts bike and get a new frame? or all new?
Yep you're right, I should have ignored the cough, stuffy nose, and ear ache, and gone riding. I'm a poser, oh well. :(
Oh, it's all brand new, built from the frame up except the seat+seatpost are off my other bike.

sweet rig, pheard
Sweet trailbike.
It looks like a lighter hybrid of my bikes. The Caldera's ~29lbs and the Dawg's ~33-34lbs.

I feel yah, I just got over a month long cold that kept me off my bike. I didn't even notice the torn up seat til you said so;)

Yep it's like right in between there. The bike feels heavy, I've only done it on a digital scale but I'd say 30-31 pounds for mine. I'm lovin' it. Monday I'm going to go on an epic ride to break it in. I was thinking of the caldera awhile back too. Never got it.

Oh. But I thought all you did was run a muffler shop? Give a bum a sandwitch and have him take over for the day. :D Just kidding.

I know, a jogger with a stroller passed me on a DH the other day, but I caught up when they had to start up that next hill!!! :D
