Hello, people--
My name's Shari, and I'm from Valencia, CA. I got to be a rabid cycling enthusiast a little over two years ago, when I was trying to drop a lot of baby weight from my third (and last) pregnancy. At the time, I was close to 200 lbs. Now I'm right at 135, thanks to cycling. What started it for me was just happening to watch the 2000 Tour de France. I was so impressed by those guys, and although I knew I'd NEVER be that good, I vowed I'd at least give the sport itself a shot. So that Christmas, I got a Cannondale R600 with a triple crank, and--well, need I say more?!:) The longest ride I've ever been on thus far has been a metric century; therefore, my current goal is to complete an actual century. I've also been doing the Piru time trials here and there, and even attempted a little track-racing, though that's scary as hell--ashamed as I am to admit it. Anyway, I'm trying to hook up with other cyclists, with whom I can talk, and maybe learn something from, as I still feel I have a lot to learn (like drafting, etc.) Also, if there are cyclists out there from the Santa Clarita Valley or even the San Fernando Valley area, look me up sometime, as I can't really learn group riding techniques unless I actually ride with other people!
Let's ride,
