I just installed a Topeak tour guide DX handlebar bag. I'm happy so far with everything except its tendency to bounce around on rougher surfaces. I've thought about trying to close the gap between the fixture on the bag itself and the handlebar mount which is just wide enough to allow the bag to bounce up and down while riding. Anybody solve this problem? I'm also wondering if a changeover to a klickfix mount might work, but I don't want to spend the money for that if I don't have to.

I have been on some fairly rough roads w/ mine but didn't notice this problem. Just want to make sure I understand in that you are saying the bag moves within the mount where it clicks in and not that the clamp isn't tight around the handlebar. It takes a little effort to get my bag in the mount since it is a very tight fit. Even though mine has worked OK I have a Klickfix on the way since I have had great luck with their system. I stripped one of the bolts once on the Topeak mount meaning the bolt became loose within the plastic and was using very little effort. I don't think I helped other than letting you know mine is a tight fit.

I had the same problem as aroundpz with the insert nut coming out. I put a dab of epoxy on it and it's still there, tight as ever. I did call Topeak about it and they sent me a new handlebar click mount thingie. Did you use the little support cable? That would be my only suggestion. It does help keep a heavily loaded bag in the correct posture. I have both the small and medium sized Topeak bags and they are s-o-l-i-d as can be.

The mount to the handlebar with the clamps and the wire is as tight as can be. I get a rocking where the piece on the bag klicks into the piece on the handlebar clamp. Maybe I'm expecting too much, but I thought the bag would be a solid fixture.

You migtht have received a bad one. I would contact Topeak since they are very responsive and I am sure they will follow up. That being said, I would give the bag a 9.5 and their mounting system a 4.
I am glad you submitted your thread because I forgot I ordered a Kilckfix from Detours about three weeks ago and it hasn't arrived. My Vaude bag had a Klickfix mount and after about 10,000 miles, it never moved or failed in any way.

The only time my Klikfix failed was due to user-error. I rested the bag on the mount but didnt click down. It bumped off with unfortunate consequences. When it is clicked down it is secure even when making scary descents on rough montain trails.
