Took my five year old son and his best friend and the friends grandfather to Monster Jam. It was actually quite entertaining and the watching my son in awe of those trucks was fun.

I have a mullet right now, gotta tuck behind the ear. ;)

Shifty, we have rodeos here, too. Small one not far from where I grew up. Just about every weekend.

It's a pity, where I'm from Friday night was local rodeo, little kids were in awe of the bulls and the clowns. Now we need 1000 hp and wheels crushing old Chevy's. It's a whole other country down your way.

I prefer the rodeo. More of a sport. There's more bull**** in motorsports than at the rodeo anyway.

I don't think there are any monster truck rallies near me, but we do have the Lake Superior Performance Rally (http://www.lsprorally.com/), which I will hopefully get to see this year.

I've been to lots of monster truck shows.

But every May long weekend up at the mudbogs there is a huge event, this year it's going to be so big Gunslinger is coming, and there is talk of Tom Anderson coming to. Loudest truck i'ver ever heard was there, and it made monster trucks sounf like kittens.

572 big block, supercharged and built to hell, 3200hp coming right out of a set of short tube ceramics. It could wheelie the bogs.

Edit: Also, i've had a mullet fir about three months now. I'ts coming off tommorow.

He went to the rodeo when he was two. We go fishing on a regular basis. He has been camping. We ride bike together, take walks, ride his scooter, go the the playground. I coach his soccer team. He is a normal well adjusted five year old. He has seen monster trucks on tv and I thought he would enjoy seeing them in person, which he did.

BTW, how do you feel about the cinch rope that they use to squeeze the animals to make them buck at the rodeo!!! Borders upon cruelty, pity. Its a whole nother country up your way.:rolleyes:

You're right, big picture doesn't always come over the internet very well, but it's a good thing, as I'm very sure your an excellent dad:)

As far as the cinch rope, my mom use to use one (she called it a girdle) and it made her cranky as hell, so I must agree with you there too!

Sorry jsharr, my comments were not personal, just commentary on the changing times and regional tastes, see I don't "get" things like monster trucks and NASCAR, it makes no sense how this can be so entertaining to people. But that's just me. Didn't mean to throw tomatoes your way:D
