Hey hey, sorry this forum is new to me, in fact its my first forum. Quick intro then, I live in sunny Bournemouth in the UK. Im 25 and have been riding on and off with varying degrees of seriousness since I had my first baby walker. I am now in the process of building a Zaskar Team frame into an endurance/trail rig and really Ive joined to see whats going on in the world of two wheels at the moment. Also, I keep posting the query Shimano or SRAM- could somebody tell me if they have had good/bad/mixed experiences with both as I have only ever used Shimano.

Hello Cams, it's always good to see another member from the UK!

I think if you give them some time, the members in the Mountain Biking forum will help get you started. You might want to run a search using the terms 'sram' and focusing on the mountain bike forum, rather than searching all forums.

Good luck, and Welcome to BF!

I was visiting Poole & Bournemouth 11 Sep 2001, and had a very enjoyable time. I have a hybrid with SRAM derailers & Sora brifters - fine together. I much prefer the Sram chain to the Shimano one with its special replacement pin.
