Mountain Biking - Brooks Flyer Saddle, Seat Bags, and Tools

I just got my Trek 730 fixed up, and before I ride it any great distances, it would help to acquire the essentials I would need for solo rides.
I plan to get a black Brooks flyer saddle, to decide if I like springs or not. One apparent drawback that I've read about, is the problem of accommodating seat bags that hang off the back of the sprung flyer saddle. Here are some Brooks bags: http://sheldonbrown.com/harris/bags/brooks-bags.html
However, even the bags sold by Brooks don't describe hanging them from the back of their flyer saddles.
What recommendations would you make, for a good bag that I could hang from the back of a Brooks flyer with springs?

The Brooks bag-link provided above also describes one of their bike kits, "Roll Kit". That might be good tools for a touring bike, but are that many tools necessary for riding a dirt bike within a 20-mile radius of your car?
What recommendations would you make, for tools to carry, and do these tools come pre-packaged in a "mountain bike tool kit"?

I use a brooks flyer on my hardtail. I recenty bought a Carradice bag called the Pendle and a SQR system to attach it to my bike, though it will attach to the saddle without the system (the saddle springs do cause the strap that fastens to the seatpost to stretch, though). This can be fixed with a longer strap, probably availible at Sheldon Brown and also at www.peterwhitecycles.com Carradice has a cool website, linked through Sheldon Brown or Peter White or just www.carradice.co.uk They seem to have a wider selection of bags from touring to underseat toolbags than Brooks, though those Brooks are nice too, I would suggest talking on phone or via email before buying - either of those shops will give you good advice when you describe what you have and what you want. Any of the Carradices will work, if your saddle is high enough for tire clearance.

The Flyer has bag loops, but I prefer to attach the saddle to the bottom loops of the coil springs, helping keep the weight lower.

Here's my bag that I got for my Brooks Flyer. If I'm planning on going on any really steep trails I use a wedge pack hung underneath instead of the tool roll so that it doesn't get in my way. My roll actually came from a Harley shop and was way cheaper than the Brooks offerings.

technically the mid 1800's (1866 to be exact), was the first year Brooks started making saddles and bags). The design has'nt changed since then. Some of us appreciate fine leather tooled saddles and bags, that last forever with proper care, unlike the throwaway after a month, cheap imported chinese garbage plastic/nylon seatbags that bloat the market today.

in other words, some prefer a Rolls Royce or Bentley ride and craftsmanship instead of a chevy or a Yugo ride and lack of quality

I guess you've never owned or worked on a rolls or bentley.....

I'll take a fine italian made saddle any day, and use a hydration pack for carrying things.

If i owned a Rolls or a Bentley i would'nt need to work on it...thats the job of the hired help. :) But i think you got my point anyways.
