Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - photos of my bikes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Here are a few newer photos of my bikes with improved resolution thanks to my daughter. Kids are smart these days!

You are the first to see this page I believe, so I am curious if the images are decent etc. Gotta figure out all the tricky ways to use my computer to post photos etc. I guess I am truly a "vintage rider". I knew the Clyde page was the place to post!!!

Yes, they are made from sugar maple boards and pull around 50 pounds. I have a Red Elm, Black Locust, Yew and a Walnut/Hickory two piece project in the works. These are being made from tree staves except the Walnut will be Hickory backed. I also have some more Maple and a piece of Bamboo to back with. So far I've made maybe 5 or 6 bows and helped a friend with his. So many projects, so little time!:)

Yea......its for sale, cause its too small for me, 55cm. I really need to be riding a 58/59cm. Tangerine is the PPG color painted at Elliot Bay Cycles/Davidson. Columbus SL tubes, Chromed, mostly old School 1976-1980's Campy parts. Back end spread to 130mm and a 6-speed Regina 13-23 Freewheel. My dream bike in my 20's but it doesn't work for me at 48......bummer.

Were you at the Sportsman's show in Puyallup with the primitive bow folks? I would have stopped by if I'd known...

No....I wish I'd known there were some boyers there. I'd be interested to see some work others have done. :)
