Looking at my race calendar, the next item on the agenda is the Cantua Creek road race on Feb. 17. Anyone planning on entering this race? Any sage words of wisdom? I'll be entering the 5's as I'd like to get a little road racing experience before upgrading to the 4's.

Yep. I'm doing the 35+ 1/2/3 as a support rider. Doing Pine Flat the following day. I hear Cantua is a rolling course, out and back, repeat as needed and throw in some wind. Slightly uphill finish. Kinda boring. If you're strong try a break. If not stay well hidden and keep your eyes up the road and towards an escape route.

Sure :) How many you need? I'll need them back for the next day though...

Is there on-site registration for this one, or do I need to mail in a form? I'm unclear after looking at the always-stellar velo promo page.

Both. I usually mail in just to be safe.

I had to pick one or the other and flat and long dosen't sound like my cup of tea so I'm going for apple/cherry pie this weekend and pine flats next.

If you are going to be in the SF Bay area this weekend for Cherry Pie (Sunday), you might want to check out the Martinez Crit on Saturday. It is a six corner downtown course with suprisingly good prizes.

I think I'm crit-d out for a little while, plus my legs are still stinging from the last Early Bird this past Sunday. I had originally had the Martinez Crit on my calendar, but with how I'm feeling and riding right now I'm going to skip it.

I am going to skip Cantua Creek as I have no team mates making the drive for the Elite 4's they are all racing 35+. I will save what little strength I have for Snelling and the wonderful pavement...
