As I mentioned in previous threads I attended the Iowa Bicycle Summit last week. I also attended the Bike Night, which was the ending event for the summit on Friday evening. It was high atop the Holiday Inn Mercy Campus in the Tower resteraunt, a very nice place. There was a dinner & a guest speaker with a cash bar. The dinner was good, a choice of pasta.
The guest speaker was better. This year the quest speaker was Joe Kurmaskie, author of Metal cowboy, Riding Outside The Lines & his newest book Momentum Is Your Friend. I have read the first 2 & purchased & just started reading his latest book. Joe also attended the summit as well. I got the chance to meet & speak with Joe. A very fun thing to do. He is very down to earth, easy to talk with, friendly with everyone he meets, very inspirational & very funny when he tells his stories. I purchased Momentum Is Your Friend from him at the summit which he autographed for me. The proceeds for the purchase of his books go toward Camp Creative.
The link to his touring company & Camp Creative can be found here: www.rollingroads.com
If you ever get the chance to meet &/or hear Joe speak by all means do so, you won't regret it.
Further more have any of you ever met Joe or seen him speak? How about read his books?
