It's February, boys. Put on a wind vest and some knee-warmers and get out there and ride!
Just kidding. It's quite a scene here. Been snowing since about 8:30 CT and still coming down. Glad I worked from home today. Got to warn all my co-workers that the roads are already ice-rinks and they'd best think about clearing out a bit early today.

I just got back from taking one of my employees in for a drug screen (that's always fun) and saw three wrecks. It's really coming down now.

I hope it don't get here till after I get home. I love riding in a snow storm, but I don't love how stupid the drivers get.
Be safe. Wish we could send some 80 degrees your way :D

People here are driving like they've never seen snow. It's central IL, it snows frequently every. single. year.

You know it's sad when you see 20 degrees at the end of the 10-day forcast and you're actually excited about it.
I'm contemplating suicide. ;)

In the back of my head I know that Global Warming is a bad thing, but I also kind of want to burn some tires.

Frack, despite what the radar shows...I just went out to put my light and my bag on the bike and slipped on my a$$ - yes, it's snowing. L8R, time to go play with dimwitted drivers.

Final tally was 6 inches of snow. Nice and dry so I was able to clean the driveway pretty quick. It took my wife over four hours to get home from Indianapolis.
Dang Chip, you ride a bike in this stuff?

Wasn't too bad here. We had a dusting as I was riding home, just enough to cover the road. Bike was fine and the cars weren't doing too bad. Then got maybe an inch last night. It was a bit warmer this morning, 6 above rather than below and the road was more wet than snowcovered or icy, which tells me they did whatever thing they do with them last night. I think the main part of the storm passed to the south of us - I hear Columbus got a decent piece of it.

Near Dayton, Ohio, we got about 6 inches of very dry snow. It's down to Zero again this morning. I see that it won't get out of the teen's until late in the weekend. This has been a "tale of two winters"-Exceptionally mild the first month of winter, now colder than normal the last several weeks. Spring will be very welcome, indeed. (When is it not?)
I'm actually getting more used to riding my trainer everyday. I think that I've been able to get used to the boredom, and the ride seems to go by quicker than it did early in the off season.

Co-Worker was driving from a foundry in Columbus yesterday and ended up in this just north of Indy on I-65, or as I like to call it during winter , the "Corridor of Death"...

This forecast is almost exciting it is so much warmer than it has been for the last week and a half or so. It has moved on to that time of year here when the only way you can tell if it snowed overnight is to look at the amount of snow on the parked cars.
@#$@#$ the luck. I think I see a cloud. What do those mean?

Snow Day up in Chitown!
My boss just called and told me we're closed today, most of the town is shutting down in anticipation of the 12" of snow that's predicted (we've only gotten a couple of inches so far).

SW Ohio- About a foot of snow expected today with sleet and freezing rain mixing in. Then, it's back to the near zero temperatures for the end of the week. I worked outside for about 35 years, so I'm so glad to be retired.
It looks like time on the trainer for, at least, the rest of the month.

Here's a picture from yesterday morning. I'll try to take another one today.
so far in the southwest burbs it is the threat of snow that has got everyone scared. it is coming though as south of I-80 has gotten nailed with blizzard like stuff. heck, i am even on a snow day. our main office in central IL has shut down which means no work for me!!! later.

Heck, might as well go home too so I can attack the snow drifts in my driveway.

Chicago, this is ridiculous snow. still fun to bike in though. I'm fairly new to the northern state stuff, I'm from Miami. This is absurd, snow to my bottom bracket, all over everything, and I don't have a functional mtb, so I'm on skinny road tires. I hope people are faring better than I, but man bikes are fun :)

The drifting is making it quite pretty outside, but made shoveling the driveway an exercise in futility.... well, at the very least it was exercise... :)
They closed the University of Illinois, that hasn't happened since 1979. It's blowing and drifting so bad the road crews can't keep the roads clear. I wonder what they'll do with all that snow when they get it scooped up?

I think they might put it on barges and take it up to the Arctic to replace some of those glaciers that keep escaping.....

Businesses are starting to shut down here. This really isn't that bad of a snow for this area, this reminds of 9/11 all over again the way people are freaking out. Oh well, while the freeways and main roads are full of people slipping and sliding into each other, I'll just plod my bike along down the secondary roads and enjoy the snow. The rest of you all, be careful out there, hear? ;)

In Chicago I think they dump it in the lake, wonder what all that scraped up road salt does to the fishys?

Nice, send it all down to Lake Erie, thanks, just what we needed, more salt for the mines that supply it right back to the roads. And you wonder why I enjoyed watching da Bears get whipped? :D

SW Ohio here, too. I don't care how much it snows just as long as the Dayton airport is open and I can catch my flight to Floriday tomorrow:)
Dang. Not that bad but it did rain today. Accidents all over the place. Supposed to be 80 on Thursday so hopefully I can drag out the road bike.
Just got back from Memphis Tenn (45-50 degrees) to the Windy City yesterday (2-12-07).
Today 2-13-07 8-12 inches of powder and counting 28 degrees.
Must be February
