Hmm... I guess electric underwear would the simpler solution... Didn't think of that... :o

Electric underwear worries me, especially when things are wet. I don't want to play 'shock the pecker'.

chemical is much better,

Cause bats are going to cost alot, and not last long.

Why convert chemical energy in to electricity then back in to heat, when you can do strait from chemical to heat?

Not sure I like the idea of chemicals down yonder either. Imagine dropping your drawers to discover that you got a glow-in-the-dark woody! Or worse, one with three heads and scales!

Even on the coldest of days I don't recall ever being concerned that my nether regions weren't warm enough.

I bet you don't carry a cell phone around?

Wiki: The magnesium metal is mixed together with a small amount of iron in a pouch. To activate the reaction, a small amount of water is added, and the boiling point of water is quickly reached as the reaction proceeds.

I don't mind Mg and Fe and some water under my rear...

Same, -30c this morn... no probs. just wear layers.

But just as advice... electricity sucks for heating.

Some motorcycles have heated seats. Man are they nice. You can even by retrofit kits to peal off the saddle cover and install 'em yourself. For a bicycle saddle you might use the grip heater size. They use a fair bit of juice, though. Frankly on a bicycle I can't fathom using them.
