Haven't posted in a while pics or recaps of LD's bike adventures.
He's now a member of the San Martin de Porres Cycling Team based in Arecibo, PR and is mostly doing track and road even thou our love is for the dirt. He's allowed to race mtb if there's no schedule conflicts so when things align correctly he does either one or sometimes double stint.

It's cold here, ice on the tree covered paths, windy. We can't complain though, the cold did not start until late Jan. Sometimes I wish our winter involved wearing a skin tight long sleeve jersey. But other times I really like seeing fresh snow. Plus it makes me appreciate the spring that much more.
He's looking comfortable on the mtb. 2 finger braking, good relaxed position.

Thanks, he really likes the mtb but his real love seems to be the track. I'm amazed by that but what can I do? He just loves riding.

Not that it is any of my buisness but what is LD riding now (in terms of bikes). He seems to have grown quite a bit over the last year,at least to me.the track bike looks to be a fuji and I think the mtn bike is a Gary Fisher?I have no idea about the roadie.Looks like he is having a great time.

He rides:
Track: Fuji Track SE (43cm, 650 wheels)
Road: Trek 1600SLR (43cm, 700 wheels)
Mtb: Gary Fisher Marlin GS (13", 26" wheels)
SS Mtb: Diamondback Octane 24 (24" wheels)
Thank you, that is quite an impressive group.Looks like his riding has really come around. You are a very lucky man.Have fun.
Thanks.
Being a "special" kid cycling has helped him not only psychically but mentally too. He had all sort of fine motor skill issues and speech disabilities and cycling has helped him increase his confidence, sharpen his motor and social skills.
That's why we as parents encourage him to take it as long and as far as he wants to go and we deal with the cost anyway we can, that's part of being a parent.

+1
...and whatever you are doing seems to be working!
Updates, the track season is over and his last event was his best ever. Now the focus shifts to dirt and road, the mtb season starts (for him) this Sunday and the road starts in April.
