first winter and i suppose the gear i bought was the right kind. ive ridden down to high single digits and have not been too affected by the cold temps. my face mask has been the key item to some of my success i believe. ive also implemented a two bike rotation. cannondale with 700x23 tires for dry days and a kona with 26x1.5 tires that has fenders for wet days. working pretty well. i havnt gotten out as much as i would have thought for other than commuting rides which is ok i guess, first winter riding and all. but overall im satisfied with what ive done so far this winter.

but ive yet to have to ride in any significant snow. that will be the test.

figured i would share. i think all of you are the only people who can truly understand this stuff and how it feels.

I use my cheap Walmart FS mtn bike the last two winters so I don't care about all the road salt on it like today after the dusting we got last night. Monday was the coldest day and I used my best winter gear and was not cold even riding past a 36 hole Golf Course with the strongest winds.
