Mountain Biking - They're finally on!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
And they rock! Only downside is that they are a ***** to get tires on/off them. I actually broke a michelin tire lever and totally bent the other 2 up.
Anyway, pics...

Good stuff, Ben. Let us know how much weight you saved over your previous wheelset. I'm kinda interested in some lighter wheels myself ;) .
Very nice sir. Whaddaya think 'bout those there E540's?
If all goes well with my ebay sales, I'll be building a new wheelset soon too.
Hope Pro II with DT EX 5.1d and DT Super comp spokes.
Should be a pretty tough wheelset and still save me over a pound.
Probably cost me in the neighbeehoo of $520-$620 (depending on where I go)

Here's what sucks about this whole thread. You're in tha middle of summer and you've got new wheels. Whooooooopie for you. I'm sick of cold windy weather!............ just kiddin'. Those look good. Let us know haw you like them.

Haha, you could say that.

They might be lighter, i'll have to see. When i ordered in the wheelset, I ordered DT single butted spokes, but they didn't have any, so they gave me double butted for free. Same strength as SB, just lighter. So i probably saved a few grams there... lol. As you can see, i'm really not much of a weight weenie.

They look good and run smooth but are so hard to get tires on and off, thats about all i can say. I haven't done a proper ride with them yet.

Haha, yeh summer is good :D But not when it reaches above 100F, sometimes 114F. Just way too hot to do anything. Good riding weather is between 68F and 90F for me. Giving the wheels a proper ride on sunday, so will let you know.
