Yup. You took a lickin' and kept on tickin'.
Good job fighting through the adversity.

I enjoyed riding with you. Hope to meet again under better circumstances.

Hey Machka, that sucks... Good to hear you're still enjoying the week out in BC!
Are you going to try the 600 anyway?
I'm doing my 300 on sunday, I'm looking forward to it!

I've been to the Dr. and my left hip is very badly bruised and will probably be another couple weeks to heal. My scraped knees are healing slowly. My head is fine (the helmet took the brunt of that) ....... and I've likely torn 1-3 of the 4 rotator cuff muscles.

The Subscapularis is the front rotator cuff muscle and it's OK (I tore it several years ago, I guess it had it's turn then!), but the Infraspinatus, Teres minor, and Supraspinatus are not in good shape. Apparently I've got 3 months of physio ahead of me! Oh well, at least I don't pedal with my rotator cuff.

Oh, here's a small collection of photos of the area around the ride:

Nice photo sequence and interesting ride reports. Bikes don't
brake well on muddy wet flats, much less 15% downslopes!
You should be back on the bike quite rapidly, for a shoulder
injury like that, week or so for sub century, perhaps a bit longer
for supracentury riding depending on how much discomfort you
have leaning on the bars. I fell at the end of July last year and
had clavicle fx, glenoid chip fx and knocked off the acromion
vertically through the AC. Was off the bike 3weeks, back on the
recumbent for a week and then gingerly on the regular bike for
short rides (30 mi +/-) because of aches when leaning on the
bars. These went away over the next 6weeks, but the shoulder
is not and never will be the same. Bell will sell you a new comparable
helmet for $30 or so if you send them the cracked helmet. Look
on their website for details. Takes 2-3wks to get the replacement.
Giro sort of does the same but wants the original purchase receipt
sent with the helmet.
