Southeast - Anyone from around New Smyrna, Florida?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm heading down there in a few days and was wondering if anyone is interested in meeting up for some road riding. I need to get some miles in but I am not familiar with the area enough to even know where to start riding. I would like to get at least 40 - 50 miles a day while I am there.

have you already been here? I haven't checked the boards lately I know some good areas to check out there!!!
Yup, got back from my trip about a week ago. I ended up getting sick part of it, only got in three rides. I managed to get in a 30 mile ride, a 60 mile ride, and a 100 mile ride. About 150 miles less than I had planned on for the week. :(

I'm curious about the routes you found in and around New Smyrna. I'll be there for a 10 day family trip this summer and plan to ride as much as possible. Any recommendations?
Get a hold of Fox Bikes (http://www.foxbikes.com/). They are very nice people and have organized rides from there a couple of times a week. They will also tell you some nice routes you can ride.

Check out Turnbull bay rd on google maps take that to Pioneer trail (zip 32168) I used to make a loop out of turnbull to Pioneer then I would take Glencoe rd south to Old Mission rd and go north then go east and climb the big South causeway bridge then go north on peninsula to either the Inlet park or go across the north causeway bridge and start all over. There is a good park on the north causeway where you can park your car and ride from there head to US 1 to get to pioneer trail. Just take a look you be able to see it on the google maps it is mostly flat but the sea breeze usually more than makes up for it!! Well thats a good road route. are you looking for a MTB trail too I got a good one! Its pretty hilly for that part of Florida and not really sandy. Let me know. There is also Canaveral national seashore I used to ride from one end of the island (really a peninsula I know) the Inlet to Canaveral and back Unfortunately I never had a computer back then so I don't know any mileages!!
