Mountain Biking - good freeride bikes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

$2500 can also get you a Specialized Bighit Expert. Why dont you put some info in your profile so we can answer your questions better......like where you live?

Have you looked at Santa Cruz yet? Also what Klein mentioned is also a very good choice.

RM isn't worth the cash. Their freeride line of suspension bikes has a really high stress ratio on the rear end which causes a lot of breakage in the rear linkage. They are talking about a redesign soon I HOPE!
For pure value here are my picks (in that range)
Bighit Expert
Ironhorse SGS Pro (this bike is hot)
Kona Stinky (I love kona)
Giant Ac series (I think 2500 will cover an ac1)
For the money you can not beat the Iron Horse SGS bikes.
