Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I saw something on someones bike not too long ago. It's cheap and easy, but it adds visibility.
What this guy had done was to attach a CD, to his reflector mount.
All you have to do is unscrew your red rear reflector, put a Compact Disc behind it and screw it back on.
The red reflector is still there, but now it has a bright accentuating backer.

Have you ever seen this done before?
I don't think it's against the law*, and most of us have an old compact disc lying around.
Chrome on a bike can also reflect headlights. This add-on is certainly not aerodynamic, but it is eye-catching.

*unless it is considered a white reflector.

Just pay $4 and get a proper large size DOT red or amber reflector. Free is not free if it don't work any where near as well as cheap.

That's a good idea.
Automotive reflective tape is really good too. Red in back, white in the front. Its cheap, bright, aerodynamic, and best of all if you wrap it all the way around a tube it gives you side visibility.

You could also drill small holes in the AoL disk and ez-tie them to your spokes and have a spinning light show...lol

I do. It keeps the government from listening in. Aw, damned, I let the helmet slip! My thoughts! They're gone... :p
